Street Eats
Data-Driven App
Tasked with creating a data-conscious and ethical app, I focused on creating an app I would love to have as a resource. Street Eats is an app both consumers and business owners can use to help locate and promote local food trucks in their area.
Identifying the problem
Food trucks are a great way to support local businesses and grab a quick bite, but they can be hard to find, even with 35,500 operating in the US.
With very few cohesive tracking devices for consumers, finding a food truck in your price range and relative location can be hard. In many cases, menus, pricing, hours, and location aren’t all housed in one spot, causing more work for the consumer.
Business owners also struggle to get their businesses to succeed. 50 to 60 percent of food truck businesses fail within their first year.
Benchmarking
For benchmarking, I looked at existing food truck apps, other online ordering services, and analytics. User Stories
User Flows
Tyler’s Flow:
Tyler’s user flow is quick and efficient in order to reflect his busy daily life. He’s using his work tablet in order to view his truck's analytics.

Julia’s Flow:
Julia’s user flow is complex to show the daily process users go through in order to find a quick lunch bite. This allows users to filter their results to fulfill their cravings in the most efficient manner.
